SUPERNATURAL’s Jensen Ackles to join the cast of THE BOYS

As you know, Supernatural is about to air its final episodes soon, and though it was announced a while back the Jared Padalecki will be starring in the rebooth of Walker, Texas Ranger, nothing was known about what Jensen Ackles would be doing after the show’s end. Until now.

If you follow Ackles on his Instagram, you might have seen this recent post.

Yes, it’s not hard to figure it out, but we want to just say it anyway. Jensen Ackles is joining the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, which will be in its third season when Ackles makes his appearance.

He’ll be playing a character named Soldier Boy, which is an obvious parody of Marvel’s Captain America. If you remember Ackles’ performance as Dean Winchester in the Supernatural episode titled “Yellow Fever,” then you’ve probably seen a glimpse of what his character will be like in The Boys. It should be quite the entertaining character for Ackles to portray.

It’s probably no surprise that Ackles has worked with one of the creators of the show already. Eric Kripke, who created the show alongside Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, is also the creator of Supernatural, and served as the showrunner for the first five seasons. This almost seems like it was just meant to be.

Southern California native who likes movies (Star Wars, Marvel, Love Simon), books (Shadowhunter Chronicles, NA, YA fantasy, Red Rising series), TV shows (Supernatural, The 100), food (sushi, seafood, steak, all kinds really), and San Diego Comic-Con. I also like to write, but don't get to do much of that aside from on here.
