THE 100 Season 5 Finds Its Villain in William Miller

William Miller has been cast as villain Robert McCreary in THE 100 season 5!

Rounding out the trio of new castings, including Ivana Milicevic and Jordan Bolger, William Miller will be joining the cast of The 100 as Robert McCreary, the new ‘big bad’ in the upcoming fifth season.

Miller’s character will be arriving aboard the Eligius prison ship that we saw briefly in the season 4 finale. The ship was sent into space before the first apocalypse, with its inhabitants being kept in cryo chambers for most of that time, explaining how they are now returning to Earth.

This means that Robert will remember how the world looked before everything went wrong, and will have lived in our current world. He is described as a “mysterious prisoner aboard the long-distance mining mission sent from our time. A former enforcer from a powerful crime syndicate, his ruthless, violent methods make him a formidable antagonist to our heroes.”

Actor William Miller has also worked with The 100‘s executive producer Jason Rothenberg before. He starred in Rothenberg’s never aired Searchers pilot. The showrunner said that they “fell in love with William [on Searchers] and are thrilled to be working with him again on The 100.”

Miller is the third new cast member to be added to the show, and, after Rothenberg said at San Diego Comic-Con that there would be three new characters, he will probably be the last.

On the Eligius prisoners, Rothenberg said that they will “ultimately be a threat” to our heroes, but that there will also be “some guys in there that we really like.”

While it now seems like Miller’s character will be a villain this season, The 100 is known for giving its villains real depth, so his character might not be as black and white as he seems. Whatever the case regarding his morals, Robert sounds like he will be a fun and interesting addition to the show, which can only make its fifth season more exciting.

The 100 is expected to return in early 2018 to The CW.
