If you can’t imagine anyone other than the original cast taking on roles in Game of Thrones, prepare to be mystified!
Actress Izzy Meikle-Small, who has had small roles in Never Let Me Go, Great Expectations, and Snow White and The Huntsman, recently revealed that she came very to gaining a coveted role on the show.
“I got to the final two to play Lady Sansa Sark,” Meikle-Small told The Huffington Post at a screening of The Big Wedding.
Meikle-Small ultimately lost the role to Sophie Turner, but says that it’s all for the best: “I was a bit sad, because the show’s massive, but I’m not that unhappy, because they all show a lot of flesh, don’t they? I don’t think my parents would be happy.”
Though the close race for a role may seem surprising, remember that things can get even more jumbled than that– Both Daenerys and Catelyn were played by different actresses in the original Game of Thrones pilot!
