The CW’s Next Arrowverse Crossover To Introduce Batwoman

Batwoman will bring a bit of Gotham to the Arrowverse!

For the past 3 years, The CW’s DC Comics “Arrowverse” featuring Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has held a crossover event to round out each show’s mid-season. It looks like the tradition will continue for one more year… with a new twist!

At the The CW upfronts event this afternoon, Arrow star Stephen Amell hopped on stage with some exciting news: There’s another crossover on the way and it will include the introduction of a popular DC character, Kate Kane aka Batwoman.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character,” he told the crowd. “For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific.”

Batwoman was first introduced in 1956 and then re-introduced in DC’s New 52 comics, in which she is Jewish and a lesbian. Unfortunately, Amell did not announce who would be playing the character in the crossover or if she’ll stick around in any capacity beyond the special.

As noted by EW, Arrow previously made references to Bruce Wayne and The Flash dropped an easter egg mentioning Wayne Tech in one of Gideon’s future headlines from 2024, so the joint universe has been slipping in the possibility of characters from Batman for quite some time.

The fourth Arrowverse crossover is due to drop in early December.
