Josh Boone had tweeted earlier that filming for The Fault in Our Stars would start in August, and just recently, while promoting the movie Stuck in Love, with actor Nat Wolff, stated that TFiOS would start filming on August 26, 2013.
Shailene Woodley is set to star as Hazel Grace Lancaster, the female lead of the story, and Ansel Elgort will play Augustus “Gus” Waters, Hazel’s love interest.
No other casting announcements have been made yet for the supporting characters, including Gus’ best friend, Isaac. However, Nat Wolff has stated through MTV that he’s in negotiations to be in this movie as well. If that’s the case, we might see him as Isaac, as there’s really no other role he could play.
What’s left to fill? Hazel’s parents, Gus’ parents, and curmudgeony author Peter Van Houten, plus some other minor characters.
