THE FAULT IN OUR STARS Director Josh Boone Says They’re Close to Casting Isaac and Another Character

It’s been hinted that Nat Wolff may be close to getting a part in The Fault in Our Stars, and since the role of Augustus Waters has already been claimed (by Ansel Elgort), it’s likely he may get the part of Gus’ best friend, Isaac.  And according to the info that Page to Premiere was able to get out of director Josh Boone, during an advanced screening of his other movie, Stuck in Love, it definitely sounds that this is very likely the case.  Here’s what Stephanie from P2P had to say about her experience at the advanced screening, and being able to ask Josh about TFiOS.

I tried to pry a little more information from Boone, but he could not say much for legal reasons. The biggest hint he dropped was mentioning they are close to casting the role of Isaac and another character.

I’m hoping the other character would be that of the author of the book Hazel is somewhat obsessed over, Peter Van Houten.

Boone spoke highly of author John Green, who he speaks to frequently about the movie’s progress. He also mentioned they want to involve the Green as much as possible, but he is not an overbearing presence in the process. Boone also praised the screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who co-wrote (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now, and Nat Wolff agreed TFIOS script is great.

It sounds like the script is in very capable hands, considering I quite liked (500) Days of Summer, and The Spectacular Now is getting positive reviews.

Boone and Wolff stayed a while longer for photos and autographs and I had the opportunity to speak with the director one-on-one. It was amazing to have the chance to talk to the director of an anticipated film before the crazy levels of excitement kick in and after seeing Stuck in Love, I am excited to see what Boone does with TFIOS.

I, too, am very much excited to see what he does, however, we won’t know until next year.  However, I’m very much looking forward to seeing Stuck in Love just to have an idea of how the director does with that film and with the two very talented young lead actors in that movie, Lily Collins and Logan Lerman.
