If you haven’t checked out Middle-Earth through the Google Chrome Experiment that is http://thehobbit.com/middle-earth, then you’d probably want to do so.  Of course, it’s best looked at on the Google Chrome browser, which you can download here.

Google Chrome lets you go through an interactive map of Middle-Earth, and there you can relive scenes from both the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit movies, and you can learn about the character’s journey and the major stops along the way, where you can watch a clip from signifying where in the movie it appears or read a tidbit about that spot.

If you check out the Battlegrounds, you’ll be able to join the battle in an interactive game.  You’ll be given a name before you begin (mine was N.B. the Young).

However, take caution, since it’s highly interactive, it does take up quite a bit of memory, so if you’re computer is a little slow on a regular basis, then it may be much slower on the site.  Still, for a fan of the movies, it’s also fun to go through.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies opens in theaters on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
