THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2 Poster Has Hidden Secrets

As The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is fast approaching, a new IMAX poster of the movie has been released. The poster is not just advertising for the movie, but also serves as a propaganda image for the rebellion against the Capitol in the Hunger Games Universe. The image shows Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, in black, white, and red and surrounded by a mockingjay and Capitol Peacekeepers.

The white roses obviously symbolize President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland, the main antagonist of the series. He often wears the roses to cover up the smell of blood after poisoning so many people and drinking some of it to throw off suspicion, but carries around the antidote. He also likes the leave them for Katniss as a greeting card of sorts, giving her a phobia of the flowers.

Blood is dripping off Katniss’s right eye, which she uses to aim her bow and arrow to a target– which will later be President Snow. Since it could be coming from the flower, it also could symbolize the blood sores in Snow’s mouth that will be the death of him.

The climax of the series will occur in just a few weeks, and as the poster says, nothing can prepare you for the end.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is set to appear in theaters on November 20, 2015.
