THE MESSENGERS Cast at WonderCon

The CW has been putting up some pretty decent drama, especially in the superhero and supernatural department, what with Arrow and The Flash, Supernatural, and even the new DC-Vertigo-based iZombie.

Now, they’re bringing in another new show, created by Eoghan O’Donnell (Teen Wolf) and executive produced by Trey Callaway (Revolution), about a group of strangers who are brought together to save humanity.

We got a chance to interview some of the actors from the series to explain more about their characters and the series itself, plus the series creator Eoghan (pronounced like Owen) and executive producer Trey.

JD Pardo is probably most recognized for his role as Jason Neville on the NBC series, Revolution.  He character’s name is Raul Garcia.

Anna Diop was in the comedy series Everybody Hates Chris.  Her character’s name is Rose Arvale.

Craig Frank has been in various TV shows, and even the popular web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, in which he played Fitz Williams.  His previous credits include Mixology, 8.13, and The Crew.  He plays Alan, a sidekick and fellow scientist of Vera Buckley.

Shantel VanSanten plays Very Buckly, a scientist.  Shantel’s credits include Gang Related, Beauty and the Beast, and One Tree Hill.

Joel Courtney might best be remembered in his debut feature film, J.J. Abrams’ Super 8.  He was also in a couple of episodes of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, but this is his first major role in a TV series.  He’ll be playing Peter Moore.

Jon Fletcher is still new to the Hollywood scene and had a handful of appearances on various shows.  This will also be his first role as a major character in a TV series, playing Joshua Silburn Jr.

Diogo Morgado is already a star in his hometown of Portugal, but is most recognized in the States for his portrayal of Jesus in the movie Son of God as well as the TV mini-series The Bible.  He will be playing “The Man” in the series.

Series creator and writer Eoghan O’Donnell wrote all thirteen episodes of the first season.  Previous other credit is that of MTV’s Teen Wolf, in which he wrote a couple of episodes.

Trey Callaway was executive producer of CSI: NY, Whodunnit?, and Revolution.

In the New Mexico desert, scientist Vera Ivanov watches in fascination as a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes, sending out a shock wave that briefly stops her heart. But Vera isn’t the only one affected: she’s instantly connected to four other strangers, who also collapse only to miraculously come back to life hours later. This group of strangers might be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture…or causing it.
