The Punisher is expanding its ranks for Season 2!
Josh Stewart (Shooter), Floriana Lima (Supergirl), and Giorgia Whigham (Scream: The TV Series) have all joined the hit Netflix show in new roles, according to a Marvel press release.
Josh Stewart will play John Pilgrim, a character who seems much like Frank Castle in the sense that he’s trying to leave a violent past behind, but circumstances drag him back. He’s described as calm but ruthless.
Floriana Lima will play Krista Dumont, a clever military psychotherapist.
Girogia Whigham has been cast as Amy Bendix, who is simply described as a “street-smart grifter.” While this very different from her description in the comics, the casting of this character is significant: It leans toward the second season following one of The Punisher‘s darkest comic arcs, “The Slavers”.
“Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher,” Marvel television head Jeph Loeb said in the statement.
The Punisher Season 2 does not have a release date quite yet.
