THE WALKING DEAD Renewed For Seventh Season

Powerhouse series THE WALKING DEAD will survive for a seventh season!

The zombie herds will keep coming for at least another year! AMC has renewed their top television show, The Walking Dead, for a seventh season!

The renewal comes as a surprise to no one, as the show has been among the most-watched and highest-rated television for quite some time now. AMC President Charlie Collier couldn’t help but joke about the obvious choice to bring back the show and it’s follow-up chat show hosted by Chris Hardwick, Talking Dead:

“Thank goodness someone had a Magic 8-Ball with them in our many long internal meetings about these renewals. When, on the third shake, ‘without a doubt’ filled the murky blue screen, we knew we had to proceed with new seasons.”

Last week’s crushing, controversial episode drew in over 18.2 million viewers and gave the show much higher overall ratings than it had at this time last year. Check out our recap here.

The show also spawned the spinoff Fear The Walking Dead, which set the cable record for the highest rated first season ever.
