Three villains are revealed for THOR: RAGNAROK, and one is most surprising.
The end of the footage shown at Comic-Con for Thor: Ragnarok was a surprise for all fans present. The first villain, Hela, played by Cate Blanchett, was shown fully rendered, looking like she came straight out of the comics. Serving Hela is Skurge (Karl Urban), a notorious Asgardian executioner wielding a double-bladed axe. Karl recently posted a photo of his freshly-shaved head, most likely going to match Skurge’s bald look.

The final villain is shown with full CGI. This was an early shot featuring Hulk, ready to dive into battle. What is below him is even more menacing – Surtur, fire demon of Muspelheim. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Surtur is an immortal older than Odin, and his realm is made completely up of fire. He plays a key role in Ragnarok, the Norse apocalypse. Surtur is destined to destroyed Asgard with the Twilight Sword. He’s about ten stories tall, made of fire, and carries a mythical sword made for destroying cities. Sounds scary, right?
Thor: Ragnarok has begun filming for a November 3, 2017 release.
