Watch hallucinations, Bollywood dance routines, and mutant breakdowns in the surprising trailer for FX’s LEGION!

X-Men is headed to the small screen with new characters in Legion and the first look at this trippy mutant drama is finally available!

The Legion trailer was introduced by Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada during his annual Cup O’ Joe panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel worked with FX to develop the series, which follows David Haller, the mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier.

In the comics, David suffers from dissociative personality disorder and each personality has its own set of superpowers, making him one of the strongest mutants ever. The trailer certainly suggests a similar theme that will play out in a wild, unexpected way. For instance, Aubrey Plaza’s character, Lenny, seems to be one of David’s hallucinations or alter egos.

The series stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Katie Aselton, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder with Bill Irwin and Aubrey Plaza. It’s set to debut in early 2017 on FX.

Legion follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real.
