Dark, atmospheric director David Slade will bring his unique style to AMERICAN GODS!
The Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods has found a new director and executive producer in David Slade!
Slade is best know for his work on 30 Days of Night, Hard Candy, and perhaps more infamously, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In recent years, he’s been a major force behind the Hannibal television series. He’s known for creating a uniquely dark feel to his films and television episodes, one that will translate well in the battle between gods!
Neil Gaiman has already welcomed Slade to the team:
Via the magic of ScheduledTweets, let me welcome genius director @David_A_Slade to the @AmericanGodsSTZ family. Fan of his since HARD CANDY.

Official Synopsis:
The plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.
