VALERIAN Opening Scene to screen before SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, Plus Clips

Check out the latest clips from VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, a film by The Fifth Element director Luc Besson.

For some of you planning on watching Spider-Man: Homecoming this opening weekend, you’ll be getting a little bit of a treat in the way of the opening scene to Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

If you’ve never heard of Valerian before, it’s The Fifth Element and Lucy director Luc Besson’s passion project. Besson had grown up reading “Valerian and Laureline,” a French science fiction comic series that was created in 1967 and lasted through 2010. When James Cameron’s Avatar came out, Besson realized the technology was now at the point to where he felt he could make the movie. Thus Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is now going to grace our theaters this month.

With the movie hitting theaters this month, a bunch of clips from the movie have been released. You can check out the rest below.

A dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets. Special operatives Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets stars Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, Elizabeth Debicki, John Goodman, Kris Wu, and Rihanna and lands in theaters July 21st.
