Coulson and May meet with the man in charge in new AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. sneak peek!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to television tonight and with it will come a slew of new changes– including a new director for the title organization.

In a premiere sneak peek, Coulson and May try to justify their Daisy drama to the boss in their first meeting, but things don’t go exactly as planned. Their new leader is a PR man at heart and between those smiles, we definitely see something suspicious lurking.

We gotta say, we’re not a big fan of the way this guy talked about Daisy or his treatment of Melinda May. Let’s hope he’s not as slimy as he seems!

The scene never gives a last name, but the only major Marvel character with the first name Jeffrey is Jeffrey Mace aka Patriot, leading many fans to believe he’s a play on that character. Patriot was a Brooklyn boy inspired by Captain America who became a superhero himself, taking on domestic threats as part of the Liberty Legion.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC tonight with “Meet The New Boss.”
