Last June, I had the opportunity to interview Stephanie Perkins about her then-upcoming slasher novel, There’s Someone Inside Your House. Now the book is out, and definitely worth reading. The story follows Makani Young, a teenager with a dark past who now lives with her grandmother and enjoys spending time with her two best friends… and maybe the boy from the summer. But suddenly, people in her small town are being murdered and weird things are happening around her. And everyone’s a suspect. In true slasher flick form, the story switches to minor characters just in time to watch them die. It truly reads like a slasher movie. If you like Stephanie Perkins’ previous romance novels and you don’t mind a little blood and gore, this book is a must-read.

I will admit some hesitancy going in. But Stephanie Perkins explained the story to her fans as her characters, her story, just with a heavy body count. This pulled me in and I couldn’t be happier I gave it a chance! Check out my full video review below!

Note: The beginning of the video is spoiler-free. I give a spoiler warning before discussing any major spoilers from the story.

So, have you read the book? Will you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, but please avoid spoilers!
