On January 10, Windwitch by Susan Dennard, the second book in The Witchlands series (first book: Truthwitch) was released. Having read the first last year, I was excited to see where the story would go. This series follows a pair of best friends with magical powers. They live in a land in which many people have specific power along difference categories– threadwitch, windwitch, bloodwitch, etc. Truthwitchery, however, is extremely rare and extremely powerful. If anyone finds out Safi has this power, they will try to use her to gain an upper hand against enemies, so Safi hides her power from the world. Of course, that can’t last forever, especially if she can’t fully trust her own family…
The sequel picks up shortly after the end of the first book and refers to the witchy powers of a different major character. Here’s what I had to say about it:
