THE 100 is back and raising the stakes in new season 4 trailer!
Season 3 of The 100 had its ups and downs, but it ultimately ended on one of the biggest cliffhangers of the show to date: the world is dying, and our heroes have no idea how to save it. This theme is picked right back up again in the first trailer for the fourth season of the show, which jumps right into this problem and how it affecting our characters, on both a physical and emotional level. As well as showing the ever-rising tensions between the different groups on earth. Check it out below:
In this almost 3 minute trailer we get a lot of hints at what’s to come in the next season of The 100, namely the issue of the radiation. And this might just be a problem too big for Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) to fix. In this trailer we start out by seeing the physical effects of the radiation and how it is affecting the earth itself, which judging by the number of body bags, is not very well. Then we get to see more of how it is effecting our characters emotionally, with Clarke still trying to protect her people and Bellamy turning around from last season and declaring that he will not take any more innocent lives as tensions start to rise in the wake of this natural disaster. Though it looks like Clarke may also be physically affected by the radiation, if the very last moment of the trailer is any way to judge.
We also catch back up with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) in this trailer, and, despite my wish for her to find a quiet space to heal, she seems to be dealing with her grief over Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) with the same violence that we saw from her last season, and she has earned herself a reputation for it. Roan (Zach McGowan) also appears, which makes me wonder about how big his role will be in the upcoming season, and whether he will side with Clarke as he did in the past or try to claim power for himself. And for all my fellow Bellarke (Bellamy and Clarke) fans, we get to see a sweet moment between them in the trailer, which is nice since they spent so much time apart last season.
This trailer makes it clear that season 4 will be the most intense and high-stakes season of The 100 yet. With a problem we’re not sure can be fixed, and the clashing views on what to do, there is no guarantee that any of our favourite characters will be safe. One thing is for sure though: from the ashes, they will rise.
The fourth season of The 100 premieres on The CW on Wednesday February 2nd, 2017 at 9|8c.
