EW is releasing another set of Outlander covers this week, two of which will be available on newsstands this Friday, and the third with the couple together will be exclusively in Barnes & Noble stores on Tuesday. The covers show Claire and Jamie in the fancy attire they attend a ball in Jamaica in. As sort of an Easter egg, the outfits are the ones they wore in the Palace of Versailles in season 2. Costume designer Terry Dresbach explains, “In the 18th century, people would have an item of clothing for their entire lifetime. So things got remade, repaired, and reconfigured. We will see that a lot in Outlander coming up.”
In EW’s article, stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan tease the remaining episodes of season 3. Balfe talks about how it’s hard work for these characters to make their relationship work after spending years apart. It’s not a walk in the park for them.
The next issue of EW will also share some tidbits from season 4. For example, Scotland doubles as the North Carolina plantation owned by Jamie’s Aunt Jacosta (Maria Doyle Kennedy).
