Roald Dahl classic THE BFG comes to life in first movie trailer!

Another piece of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s stories is about to hit the big screen! Check out the first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of The BFG!

The movie follows 10-year-old orphan Sophie (named after Dahl’s granddaughter) portrayed by newcomer Ruby Barnhill, who comes across a Big Friendly Giant– The BFG— played by Mark Rylance. He takes Sophie to Giant Country where he teaches the timid girl about dreams and magic, allowing them to form an incredible friendship. But not all of the giants in Giant Country are friendly. Most want to feast on human flesh! To stop them, Sophie and the giant head to London to warn Queen Elizabeth about the impending giant problem about to befall England.

This trailer doesn’t give too much away, instead focusing on Sophie and her first meeting with her giant friend, but you definitely feel the fantastical elements of this beloved childrens’ tale within!

The BFG comes to theaters on July 1, 2016.
