Watch: Sarah Hyland in SHADOWHUNTERS + New Comic-Con Trailer

Check out a sneak peak of Sarah Hyland in SHADOWHUNTERS and an all new trailer!

It was announced a little while ago that Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland would guest star on Shadowhunters this season, and now we finally know what role she will be playing: the Seelie Queen. It looks like Hyland will be playing an older version of the child Seelie Queen that we met a few weeks ago in “The Fair Folk.” The Queen is a very old and powerful being, so it makes sense that she would be able to change forms. Check out a sneak peek of her and Simon (Alberto Rosende) below:

Many fans suspected that Sarah Hyland would play the infamous Queen, and from the looks of this sneak peek, she will be great in the role, perfectly capturing the mix of ruthlessness and poise. Hyland says she is very excited to be a part of the cast in an official announcement video that you can watch here.

This isn’t the only new footage that Shadowhunters released today, a new Comic-Con trailer was also revealed, and it will definitely have you on the edge of your seat. Check it out below:

This new trailer hints at what’s to come in the rest of season two, and it’s looking like the stakes will be higher than ever. Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary’s (Katherine McNamara) relationship is highlighted in this trailer, making it look like fan favourite ship Clace may finally be back on our TVs. As well, it hints at some possible trouble for Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario), with Magnus saying to Alec: “you looked me straight in the eyes and lied.”

Sebastian (Will Tudor), it seems from this trailer, will be the main villain going forward, growing more ruthless and evil by the second. And it doesn’t look like this battle will leave our heroes unscathed – the trailer ominously declares that “before it’s over, one will die.” Though book fans may have an idea of who will meet their end, the show has strayed from the plot of the books, so anything is possible.

Make sure to catch Shadowhunters Mondays at 8|7c on Freeform, and, if this new trailer is any way to judge, be prepared to be shocked.
