Shadowhunters returns to Freeform on Monday June 5th with “Mea Maxima Culpa” kicking off the back half of their second season. This episode is long awaited by fans, as it is where fan-favourite book character, Sebastian Verlac (Will Tudor) makes his first appearance. But it looks like fans won’t have to wait any longer to see Sebastian interact with any of our main characters, as Freeform has just released a new sneak peek featuring Sebastian and Izzy (Emeraude Toubia). This clip shows Sebastian seemingly trying to help Isabelle overcome her Yin-Fen addiction, though book fans may be a little wary, considering some of his on-page actions. We also get to find out about Sebastian’s background in this clip, as it differs from the books, learning that he was addicted to Yin-Fen himself, and left the London Institute to overcome his addiction.
Sebastian’s appearance on the show promises an interesting season, and possibly a larger plot to span seasons to come, as he is the main villain in the last three novels, which is an exciting possibility. Make sure to catch Sebastian’s Shadowhunters debut on “Mea Maxima Culpa” on Monday June 5th at 8pm on Freeform.
“Shadowhunters” returns for the second half of season two with Shadowhunters and Downworlders reeling from what happened at the New York Institute in the winter finale. As the rift between the two sides grows larger, the team and their Downworld friends and lovers are put in the middle of the dangerous divide. Torn between the Clave’s rules and what they feel is right, Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle struggle to help forge a new beginning. Relationships will be tested, a new Shadowhunter named Sebastian will join the fray and the Seelie Queen will step out of the shadows in the summer season.
