The trailer for the second season of SHADOWHUNTERS has been released along with two new sneak peeks!
The cast of Shadowhunters was at New York Comic-Con this weekend, and a lot of new and exciting things were released, including two sneak peeks from the upcoming season and a trailer. From these clips, it is looking like the main conflict in this upcoming season will be surrounding Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and the other characters’ struggle to save him. Check out the trailer below:

It’s looking like Jace’s loyalty is also up in the air, with the Clave suspecting that he might be on Valentine’s side. This will be a really interesting dynamic to uncover, as we’ll get to learn more about Jace and how he feels about his father. This trailer also talks about Jace and Alec’s (Matthew Daddario) relationship, with Alec saying that they are “closer than blood.” This is nice to hear, especially after their struggles last season.
The first sneak peek was released exclusively by MTV and seems to one of the first scenes from the first episode. It shows Maryse (Nicola Correia Damude) introducing the new head of the New York Institute, and putting the Institute under lockdown, while Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) worry about Jace and where he is:

The second sneak peek also shows us Clary and Izzy, though this time they are training, while Clary is still upset that they can’t go look for Jace. Watch it below:

From these clips, it looks like Shadowhunters will be getting more intense than ever this season. The show had a few rough patches last season, but that is to be expected of the first season of any show. And hopefully now that this show has found its groove, this new season will be as fantastic as these clips make it look.
In the January 2 premiere, the Shadow World is in upheaval as Valentine and The Circle continue to grow stronger by the minute, while our Shadowhunter team quickly becomes disillusioned with The Clave and their reaction to the recent events. Loyalties will be tested, unlikely bonds will be made and relationships will be pushed to the limit as the Shadowhunters and their Downworlder friends make their way in a new world.
