The novel follows Emika Chen, a teen bounty hunter on the brink of poverty whose life changes when she accidentally glitches into a championship round of Warcross, the world’s most immersive virtual reality gaming experience. Emika thinks she’ll be caught and punished but instead, the handsome, mysterious owner of Warcross’ parent company invites her on board. Hideo needs Emika to help him catch a hacker, but this threat may be more than either of them bargained for.
