The Force is strong with this new trailer
And there we have it. The new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was shown at Monday Night Football’s half time. We definitely get a lot more information about the characters (although there could be some misdirection as trailers often like to do), but all in all, it looks amazing.
We first see a masked Rey (Daisy Ridley) climbing through what looks to be an abandoned ship, probably one of the wrecked ships we see in the first teaser. We also see Finn (John Boyega), possibly a former stormtrooper, who may or may not have crashed on a desert planet, and who may or may not have The Force in him.
We see a masked Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) who may have obsessed over Darth Vader, and seems bent on bringing the Empire back to its former glory. We catch a glimpse of him doing some kind of dark side mojo on ace pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
Then we see the Millennium Falcon evading shots from tie fighters following its tail through more wreckage. We even hear a familiar piece of music from the original trilogy, which just brings back joyous memories of the classic films.
And with that the introduction of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) as it seems he’s having a conversation with Finn and Rey in the Falcon. Solo’s voice talking about past tales that are true while showing some awesome flashes of the film. “The dark side, the Jedi, they’re real.”
What’s interesting is hearing that he has to confirm this to them. As if they only know them as myths or legends. Why so, we wonder? Was this not in their history books? Was it kept secret? What has happened since Return of the Jedi that they would not know this stuff already?
And who is The Force really calling to? Finn? Rey? Poe? All of them?
