THE LITTLE PRINCE Netflix trailer offers up heart, hope, and artistry!

“All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it.”

For many readers, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince— or Le Petit Prince, in its original French– was a childhood staple. The book told the story of an aviator who crashes his plane in the Sahara desert, where he then meets a prince from the asteroid B-612 who is traveling across the universe to learn about different peoples’ experiences. Now, you can experience the adventure in a whole new light with The Little Prince movie!

The animated feature directed by Kung Fu Panda‘s Mark Osborne follows a young girl named Jessica Riley whose very serious mother is pushing her into a very grown-up world, perhaps before her time. Jessica secretly befriends her elderly neighbor, the aviator from the original story, who introduces a whole new world of fun and possibilities while interweaving his journey with The Little Prince.

The Little Prince was originally supposed to received a theater release from Paramount back in March, but the studio backed out and sold the rights to Netflix about a week before, probably to avoid going up against Disney’s animated blockbuster Zootopia.

The Little Prince comes to Netflix on August 5, 2016.
