Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus wish for something “lighter” in The Walking Dead Red Nose Day Special.
Yesterday’s Red Nose Day event had some new and returning celebrities bring out the fun side of themselves to help promote and raise funds for kids in dire situations. One of those groups that helped out was the cast of The Walking Dead, as well as some special guests, as stars Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln start the segment off by having a milkshake (provided by the slightly tormented Josh McDermitt) during a break on set while they talk about wanting to do something lighter, like a Walking Dead Red Nose Day special, in the ilk of the Star Wars Holiday Special – ya know, because that was lighter.
As duo agree on it, their imagination takes them to the Walking Dead Red Nose Day special opener, where we get to see all our favorite Walking Dead survivors, and then some, in what might be considered as something like “sweetness and light” fare, as opposed to the “blood and gore and horror” of The Walking Dead.
Well, that was definitely something that’s different than “blood and gore,” but some might consider it to be a bit of a horror anyway. However, it would be a delight to see Chris Hardwick in an actual episode of The Walking Dead, maybe as a Han Solo cosplayer walker.
And what the heck, we can enjoy daddy Goldblum and Auntie Yvette as part of the Dixon clan. And it isn’t a special without a 16-minute drum solo, but it’s even more so with a drum solo by the Melissa McBride!
Others cast in the special were Ross Marquand, David Morrissey, Sonequa Martin-Green, Steven Yeun, and Christian Serratos with special guest stars Jeff Goldblum, Dax Shepard, and Yvette-Nicole Brow to present the spoof.
Of course the whole thing was done in fun as the Comic Relief-sponsored event is not only about giving to the kids that need it, but also to make them smile, like we all love to do.
