The new WONDER WOMAN trailer goes into the “Origin” of the woman also known as Princess Diana of Themyscira.

We’ve already seen Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) do some bad assery in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,  but this time she’s going solo and we get to see who she was from the beginning. In the latest trailer, we see moments from her youth and her training as Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) orders General Antiope (Robin Wright), Hippolyta’s sister and Diana’s aunt, to train her the hardest out of all the warriors.

There’s also a hint of mystery in Princess Diana finding out who she is. What that means, well, it’s possible they are going with the idea that she doesn’t know who her father is.

The trailer moves on to show Diana leaving her Amazonian island to help Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor character during World War I in London.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment comes the epic action adventure starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, directed by Patty Jenkins.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman also stars David Thewlis, Ewan Bremner, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Florence Kasumba, and Danny Huston. The movie is the first one to have a female director for a summer superhero action movie, and the first superhero film to have a female as the main protagonist.

The female driven movie is set to hit theaters June 2, 2017.
