We now have a FEAR THE WALKING DEAD Official Poster

At a quick glance, this poster of a couple of boys playing some one-on-one b-ball under the late afternoon sun doesn’t sound so out of the ordinary. But when you see the off-center subject that seems to be idling by, you’ll realize that it might just be as innocent a picture as you’d like. And that’s because this is the Fear the Walking Dead official poster.

Fans have been wanting more Walking Dead for a while now, and now we’ll finally get more when the companion series starts August 23rd.

This time, it’s with a completely new group of people, particularly one couple, Kim Dickens (House of Cards) and Cliff Curtis (Gang Related), and their offspring.  Kim plays Madison, a high school guidance counselor, while Cliff plays Travis, an English teacher from the same school.

There’s all kinds of dysfunction in this current family demographic, complete with Madison’s stubborn teen daughter played by Alycia Debnam-Carey (The 100) and drugged-out son played by Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) from another father.  Add the ex-wife, played by Elizabeth Rodriguez, and this is some serious family drama.

This is essentially the goal of the creator of the series, but with just zombies in the mix for that added gore and horror that can seriously up the ante for good family drama.

Being that this is a companion series, it starts off in the same time frame of when The Walking Dead’s Rick is out in a coma.  Things, and people, will still be fresh, but according to the trailer, the horror part doesn’t take too long to rear its ugly head.  You can check out the trailer for Fear the Walking Dead below!

Fear the Walking Dead also stars Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason, and starts Sunday, August 23, 2015.
