William Shatner on Why He Live-Tweets SUPERNATURAL

William Shatner recently explained how he got into the habit of live-tweeting SUPERNATURAL and a few other CW shows.

Shatner has been friendly with Misha Collins for a while. When Collins’ directorial debut on the show entitled “Mother’s Little Helper” aired, Shatner make a “threat” that turned into a side job!

“Being the ‘older’ actor guy on Twitter, I’m always up for encouraging new actors and starting conversations,” he told the paper. “I jokingly ‘threatened’ to live tweet along with him and he accepted. Thus, my career as a live tweeter was born.”

Soon other shows on The CW began asking for how endorsement and paid a small price in return: A few signed items of Shatner’s charity event, The Hollywood Charity Horse Show’s silent auction.

Currently, Shatner live-tweets SUPERNATURAL, The 100, and THE TOMORROW PEOPLE. Viewership for all three shows has increased since his live-tweeting began. He is being encouraged by fans to also take on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
