The new poster for the third WOLVERINE movie was released by both actor Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold.
The poster for the Wolverine 3 movie was just revealed earlier today, and as simple as it looks, it brings up a question or two, or maybe a surprise or two. One of those surprises may be in the title itself. You see, anyone remotely familiar with the X-Men universe knows that Wolverine’s other, less-threatening name is Logan.
Of course, the obvious question about the poster is “Whose little hand is holding Wolverine’s?” And probably why use the title “Logan“? Well, according to Slashfilm, the little hand is speculated to be X-23, a young female clone-daughter of Wolverine who dons two claws per hand instead of three, and one claw per foot. The movie will take place in 2024 with a Logan who is not only physically aging but, as hinted by the poster, one who’s accelerated healing ability is not as fast as it should be. The movie will have a much darker tone and is expected to be rated R (thanks, Deadpool!)
James Mangold tweeted out a page from the script that gives details as to Wolverine’s physical state as well as the type of violence that will be shown this time around:
That definitely explains a bit more about what’s being planned, but there’s still a lot to know about Logan. This will be Hugh Jackman‘s last time playing the broody claw-fighting mutant, and we’re hoping for some epic standout performances for his last hoorah.
