Writer Ben Edlund will not return for season nine

The Supernatural producer and writer, who is credited with writing episodes such as season three’s, “Ghostfacers” episode and season six’s “The French Mistake,” will not be writing for season nine.

It was revealed at this weekend’s All Hell Breaks Loose convention in Australia that Edlund is leaving the show after seven seasons. He will be be joining the staff at Revolution, the current project of Supernatural‘s creator, Eric Kripke.

He also directed two episodes of Supernatural: season 6′s “The Man Who Would Be King” and season 7′s “Reading Is Fundamental.” Find a full list of the Supernatural episodes Edlund worked on here.
