X-MEN: APOCALYPSE | Meet Tye Sheridan

Meet Tye Sheridan: Young Cyclops from X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Tye Sheridan, 19, bagged one of the most exciting roles in the new entry into the X-MEN franchise, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE – the role of the young Cyclops. You may remember Sheridan from the Terrence Malick film Tree of Life which starred Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain. He has also acted with Matthew McConaughey in the Jeff Nichols’ film Mud. He has also been signed on to play the lead role in the Steven Spielberg adaption of the novel Ready Player One.

Cyclops’ power is shooting lasers out of his eyes. On set, however, this made Sheridan feel foolish as during fight scenes he was staring at things and growling. It did not look very impressive yet we hope in the film with the magic of CGI Cyclops will be as menacing as ever. As Sheridan has signed on for the next two X-MEN films he will hopefully get used to all the staring.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE finds the mutants fighting against the first mutant/god Apocalypse who has gathered his four horsemen Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and Angel (Ben Hardy). Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Charles (James McAvoy) must create a new group of young mutants to fight against Apocalypse to save the world.
