X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Goes Full-On 80s With In-World Ad For Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters

Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters gets one heck of a 1980s-style commercial!

In case you forgot that X-Men: Apocalypse, like First Class and Days of Future Past before it, is a throwback to a bygone decade, here’s a hilarious new bit of advertising to help you remember!

There has never been anything quite so 80s in recent years as this ad for Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters narrated by new school mutant Jubilee (with help from Stan Lee in the end!) It comes complete with tracking lines, a black and white photo slideshow, and bright yellow screen captions.

Talk about dedication to your time frame! Not to mention, it’s nice to see Jubliee in action, considering she doesn’t play a role in any of the other advertisement so far.

Though it didn’t catch the 80s spirit in quite the same way, the movie offered up another great throwback with their “In The Footsteps Of…” video for En Sabah Nur aka Apocalypse last month.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters next Friday, May 27, 2016.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
