Conspiracy video with special guest narrator is excellent X-MEN: APOCALYPSE fun!
X-Men: Apocalypse is taking it to the next level with a brand new in-world video advertisement!
“In the Footsteps of… En Sabah Nur” is wonderfully reminiscent of Leonard Nimoy’s “In Search Of” videos, narrated by his former co-star and good friend George Takei.
The short video mashes up images of Mystique and Beast from X-Men: Days of Future Past with a drawing of En Sabah Nur aka Apocalypse (they’re all blue, after all) and the legend behind the first mutant. With lots of other disturbing imagery thrown in, it comes off as a full-on conspiracy video, but it’s certainly some effective marketing!
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
