Yallwest 2016 does a Hamilton sing-along

Authors and some very talented Yallwest volunteers get into it all at the Hamilton sing-along.

Although Yallwest is mostly about the books, there are times when it’s more than just that, and this was one of those times.  This year’s bookfest decided to add, quite brilliantly I might add, a Hamilton sing-along hour that proved to be as fun and amazing and awesome as everything else doled out during the weekend, maybe even more so.

If you’re not familiar with the Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton: An American Musical, well, we don’t know where you’ve been hiding, but let these fans of the Broadway show you just how passionate they are about it.

Seriously, I’ve not seen such a talked-about musical that attracts all ages, and to have these teens so wonderfully into the music and the emotion of the story is something to behold.  I would love to continue seeing this happen for musicals such as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s creation.  It makes sense that it would be those that love books to love Hamilton and show it.
